Thanks luke.
Nice article the big difference here is what Lenovo considers to be edge computing as opposed to what Brainchip is doing at the edge which is about 10 metres closer to the edge than they are as the following performance figures show in a recent review of Intel's i5 & i7 10nm chip makes clear:"The new 10-nanometer chips arrive at a crucial time when remote working is a norm as efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 keep us out of the office. To make your working at home environment less stressful, Intel's new 11th Gen vPro chips promise faster performance, better graphics, improved connectivity and several new security features.
Intel 11th Gen Core vPro: Specs
CPU model Cores/Threads Operating range Base clock Maximum (single core) Maximum (all cores) Core i7-1185G7 4C/8T 12-28W 3.0Ghz 4.8Ghz 4.3Ghz Core i5-1145G7 4C/8T 12-28W 2.6Ghz 4.4Ghz 4.0Ghz Core i7-1180G7 4C/8T 7-15W 1.3Ghz 4.6Ghz 3.7Ghz Core i5-1140G7 4C/8T 7-15W 1.1Ghz 4.2Ghz 3.5Ghz Intel 11th Gen Core vPro CPUs: Performance
Intel boasts significant performance gains from these new 11th Gen vPro chips especially when it comes to graphics. As our reviews of 11th Gen-powered laptops have shown, the Iris Xe graphics in Intel's latest CPUs are better than any integrated solution we've seen thus far, capable of playing AAA games at decent frame rates."
I think it is a bit like going to a lookout. Lenovo is standing back behind the fence where it can plug into 240 volt whereas Brainchip has let AKIDA climb over the fence and go right to the edge and hang its sleeping hammock out from the rock wall and look straight down into the valley for a week or two with just a couple of pencil light batteries for power.
Both Intel and Lenovo seem to classify the edge as your laptop. Brainchip would call that your residential address.
My opinion only DYOR.
