I am reflecting back on the week where the depth of research and quality discussion has some what lowered as other voices have become louder. This got me thinking as to why. I reflected back on my career and during two pivotal stages i was taken out of my comfort zone and placed into project land, one in development and procurement of a specialist skills training program and the other, the procurement of a workplace led I.T. solution both as project owner. Why the hell am I telling you all this?.
Well during both periods I had numerous parties all with vested interests in trying to persuade, convince and dead set beg to consider options that their company or solution may hold. To me as the project owner this was distracting as we had already done our due diligence with solutions that we identified would suit our existing training/ IT compatibility and we were confident in our tender parameters. The point I am making, while their products may have been excellent, in the scheme of what I required at that point of time, their timings and product was not right. It was hard for these new, possible cutting edge but definitely untested companies to get that break.
Lets look at brainchip. A cutting edge product which the big boys of the world will very much likely use going forward, but its that first break and the first big fish to take the hook. While Renesas is that fish, once they start showing the integration and opportunities they have developed then things will change and very quickly in my opinion. Without this we are reliant on BRN sales people begging and influencing sometimes weary or restrained purchasers, armed with a product not yet on the forefront of everyone's minds.
@ff talked about the tipping point. Once we have a big name, with a product for delivery in hand then the tipping point will have been reached.
BRN will be that company and whilst I would love for the first announcement to be tomorrow the reality is that it will be when it will be and the short term traders will do their bit to make some cash whilst the longer term holders watch, save, increase holdings and await the day every electronic company will have the letters AK within the model number of all their products.
All we can do is try, be civil and nice (Nana).
