The term "city" is interesting In Japan they are used to living very densely.
I cant resist saying 2000 people is really barely a suburb.(In England a city is defined by having a cathedral, though generally a small city starts at approx 100,000 people)
However the concept is great for study of small scale interaction of new technology with humans before attempting to scale up. Japan are always out there in experimenting with new technology and ideas. I wonder how they'll be able to implement all these new ideas into there existing cities. The sheer cost is astronomical. The cost of any land there is also equally huge both financially and environmentally for new development.
