That’s why BRN uses Far Edge to designate where the sensor sits, i.e no network connection needed between sensor and compute.
Other companies use Edge to designate edge of cloud. Still need network between sensor and the “Edge” server.
It is definitely used by mainstream marketing to blur the differences and hide their weekness.
