    AND now on a POSITIVE NOTE let your imagination run wild with the following facts while not forgetting the gold plated facts that:
    1. Professor Barry Marshall has been working on early detection of gastric cancer from VOC's on exhaled breath;
    2. Professor Barry Marshall is a Nobel Laurette;
    3. Professor Barry Marshall is on the Brainchip Scientific Advisory Panel;
    4. Professor Barry Marshall was introduced to AKIDA technology by his friend Adam Osseiran shortly after working together on the Noisy Gut Belt;
    5. Professor Barry Marshall and Brainchip have clear links to Technion, NaNose and Professor Haick;
    6. Professor Haick showed in 2013 for the first time that the detection of cancer from exhaled VOC's was possible;
    7. The former CEO of Brainchip last year stated that AKIDA technology use case was the detection of cancers from VOC's on exhaled breath;
    AND do not forget this is my opinion only so DYOR

    Confirms theeffectiveness of a smartphone-connected device that can detect gastric cancerafter exhalation

    The resultsobtained in the international project SNIFFPHONE *, in which an exhaled airanalysis device to be connected to a smartphone has been developed, confirm theusefulness of the technology in the diagnosis of gastric cancer. In March,these results were published in the internationally acclaimed magazineCANCER.

    In the SNIFFPHONE project, scientistsdeveloped a special device that can be connected to a mobile phone. Theportable "electronic nose" will allow artificial intelligence toanalyze the exhaled air and determine with good accuracy whether a person hasstomach cancer or a precancerous condition. Scientists from Latvia, Israel,Germany, Ireland, Austria and Finland are involved in the project. The clinicalpart of the study was performed in Latvia and in our country the group was ledby Mārcis Leja, Director of the Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine(LU KPMI), University of Latvia. The research work of the institute was carriedout in close cooperation with the specialists of the Riga East ClinicalUniversity Hospital and the Laboratory of Academic Histology, as well as theCenter for Digestive Diseases GASTRO.

    Within the framework of the project,LU KPMI implemented patient involvement and device testing in clinicalconditions. A recent scientific paper featured a clinical study of 274 patientsusing an "electronic nose" for breath testing. 94 of them had aconfirmed diagnosis of stomach cancer and surgery, while the rest were healthyand had an endoscopy. Analysis of sensor data revealed significant differencesin exhaled air between patients with gastric cancer and 113 control groups withnormal endoscopy results. The device also helped to detect, for example,pre-cancerous conditions of the stomach in 67 high-risk patients withrelatively acceptable accuracy, which were then confirmed by additionalanalyzes.

    The researchers emphasize that thisdevice plays a particularly important role in the early diagnosis of gastriccancer, which would avoid late detection of the disease, thus reducing patientmortality. In addition, the technology is relatively inexpensive, worksquickly and accurately, and is non-invasive. For comparison, endoscopy,magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography are usually used to diagnosestomach cancer. In addition, the Sniffphone is portable, which allows it tobe used outside of laboratory conditions. The potential use of the newdevice is very wide and could be used in the future to detect and monitor otherdiseases.

    Work on the development of an exhaledair analyzer is currently continuing in the framework of another internationalproject - VOGAS *, which plans to make this device even more accurate.

    Prof. Hossam Haick /

    Headof the Group

    Hossam Haickis a Full Professor in the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and anexpert in the field of nanotechnology and non-invasive disease diagnosis. Heearned his doctorate from the Technion in 2002. After graduation, he did two,two-year postdoctoral fellowships – first at the Weizmann Institute of Science,then at California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He returned to theTechnion at the end of 2006 as an assistant professor, becoming a fullprofessor in 2011. Prof. Haick has published more than 220 publications intop-level journals in the field of nanotechnology, advanced/appliedmaterials/chemistry, and medicine; more than ten five book chapters.Additionally, the technologies developed by Prof. Haick and his team have ledto the production of more than 42 patents and patent applications – many ofwhich have been licensed to six international companies. Prof. Haick is thecofounder of FeelIT Ltd. and NanoVation-S.G. Ltd. – startup companies aiming tocommercialize innovative non-invasive technology for monitoring vital signs inhealth.

    Prof. Haickis the recipient of dozens of prestigious awards and a coordinator of fewinternational consortia, including the FP-7’s LCAOS, EuroNanoMed’s VOLGACOREand Horizon-2020’s SNIFFPHONE, Horizon-2020’s A-Patch, and Horozon-2020’s VOGASprojects. He is also the recipient of more than 80 international honors andprizes for his achievements, including a Knight of the Order of Academic Palms(conferred by the French Government), the Advanced Alexander von HumboldtResearch Award, the Changjiang Distinguished Professorship, the IChemE GlobalAward, the Sanford Kaplan Prize, the Honorary Doctorate (Doctor of PhilosophyHonoris Causa) from the University of Haifa, etc. Prof. Haick was included inmore than 80 top-rank listings worldwide, including the “MIT Technology Review”list of 35 leading young scientists in the world, the “50 Sharpest IsraeliMinds”, the world’s top-100 influential innovators in the Digital Technology byNominet Trust (London, UK) and the top-100 influential people in theworld by the GOOD Magazine (Los Angeles, USA). Prof. Haick also received thehighest teaching awards granted by the Technion, including the “Yanai Prize forAcademic Excellence”.

    BesidesProf. Haick’s achievements in research, he has had considerable success as alecturer, as expressed by the many prizes he has received for excellence inteaching. Prof. Haick is the recipient of the “Yanai Prize for AcademicExcellence”, which is given for exceptional contribution in teaching andacademic education. In 2014, Prof. Haick designed and developed the firstmassive open online course (MOOC) in the Technion and is the first personworldwide to do this in two languages: English and Arabic. This MOOC focuses onthe fields of nanotechnology, and nanosensors stressing their implications foruse in diagnosis and treatment of disease, as well as in personalized medicine.So far, the course has drawn more than 116,000 participants, thus disseminatingknowledge about biomedical science and nanotechnology to people in bothdeveloped and developing countries, without admissions bureaucracy.

    The researchinterests of Prof. Haick include nano-array devices for screening, diagnosisand monitoring of disease, nanomaterial-based chemical (flexible) sensors,electronic skin, breath analysis, volatile biomarkers, and cell-to-cellcommunication.
