Wireless roads are about as insane as solar roadways. It's hard enough to make a stationary wireless charging pad for mobile phones. Like battery swap stations, it relies on getting manufacturers to standardise their wireless aerials, and has huge capital costs. I could see wireless pads for luxury brands that you can put in your garage and trickle charge, but it's more duplication/complexity/weight for almost non-existent benefits, and as mentioned, lossy. I'm not sure but I'd also guess they could be a nightmare for a range of wireless transmissions, looking at a multi-kw transmitter in every house, drowning out a chunk of frequencies. I need to have a bit of a google on that impact and mitigation.
Robotic fleets will just as easily pull into charging stations a couple hours a day and be plugged in by maintenance techs that check over everything else on the vehicles in the fleet or simple robotic arms.
