It's also not all about the 9's. Two samples of 99.99 are not the same as it also matters what impurities remain. Fe (Iron), Na (Sodium), and Pb (Lead) are not good for batteries and guess what the Bayer process produces (sodium (always), calcium, iron, silicon and titanium and mostly iron).
Guess what A4N has in their HPA:
- HPA assays and solvent extraction process stream analyses have identified the key impurities as sodium (Na), gallium (Ga), iron (Fe) and magnesium (Mg)
Now for FYI: extremely low values of the deleterious elements Fe, Na, and PB
Other areas of importance include characterisation and morphology (the particular form, shape, size, density and fundamental crystalline structure etc.)
99.99(9) is a good headline number but it's not everything.
