I think it's more about defining the broad scope of work and aims of the collaboration agreement for the year. At the end of last year a lot was happening that had implications for that scope of work.
The platform lot under production now was pushed back so that design changes based on data from the last non-platform lot could be incorporated.
They may even have wanted to see how the current lot is progressing in the fab before agreeing on the details.
If I put my rose coloured glasses on, it signals a good working relationship between 4DS and IMEC, where both parties can collaborate in good faith without sweating on a contract.
