In case anyone missed it, here is an excerpt from ID8 US Patent Approval announcement on 14 December 2020 (emphasis added):

"Identitii’s secure financial information sharing ecosystem overcomes key limitations of existing
technology systems to simplify financial crime compliance, streamline regulatory reporting
operations and enable faster settlement of payments. The technology that underpins the patent is
the backbone of the Company’s correspondent banking solution, which enables institutions all
around the world to securely share information for Know Your Customer (KYC)and Anti-Money
Laundering(AML) compliance."

Here is Mastercard's announcement re their proposed foray into crypto (10 February 2021):

"First and foremost we need consumer protections, including privacy and security of consumers’ information — the same level of security people have come to expect in their credit cards. Next, strict compliance protocols will be needed, including Know Your Customer, a requirement meant to snuff out illegal activity and deception in payment networks. Also, these digital assets must follow local laws and regulations in the regions they are used."

Okay, Mastercard might be developing their own KYC solution, they say (10 February 2021):

"With 89 blockchain patents granted globally with an additional 285 blockchain applications pending worldwide, we already have one of the payments industry’s biggest blockchain patent portfolios to draw from to make these projects successful."

However Mastercard are currently working with ID8 and John Rayment states (14 December 2020):

“U.S. patent approval is a huge milestone for Identitii because it helps safeguard our business
from competitive threats and protects our strategy of building a connected ecosystem for financial
information, without replacing existing systems. There is also the potential to licence the
technology to other players, generating additional revenue."

An interesting time to be invested in ID8!
