Looking at BOM's seven-day town and city forecasts in NSW and Victoria, in the graingrowing regions it's claimed to be mainly fine, so this is ideal weather for the harvesters to do their job (assuming entry into most paddocks is possible given some previous wet weather).
We don't want to spread hype, but next week (from today) may see larger receivals from the two southern states than in any week thus far. A cynic might say 'that's not hard, given low receivals to date' but nonetheless it will cement a promising outlook for the 2022 winter harvest.
Very pleasing for Indonesians and Filipinos who are big buyers of our wheat, although far from the only ones. Having recently been in Manila, bread is a breakfast staple up there, and so-called 'French bread' similar to our savoury version has gained a little in popularity over the years with urban folk compared to the local palate's historic preference for pandesal ("salt bread" that is actually sweet, not my preference).
