The weather has turned very warm to hot in much of the Victorian graingrowing areas, helping to (gradually?) make access easier to paddocks.
in NSW, there is a Pacific National grain train that may be loading at Moree in the northwest. There is another empty grain train travelling through Curlewis, south of Gunnedah.
A loaded PN grain train bound for Carrington )Port of Newcastle NSW) is stopped at Pages River crossing loop, just north of delightfully named Murrurundi and shortly to be overtaken by NSW TrainLink's Sydney-bound 'Northern Tablelands Express' railcars that commence daily at Armidale and separately at Moree, a pleasant way to travel.
A long way south at Temora, there's another PN grain train that's probably loading as it's doing a tiny number of kilometres per hour, indicative of the locomotives moving the wagons as each fills.
There should be other rakes (sets) of grain wagons dotted around NSW but not all are visible on the incomplete information I can see.
In Victoria, there are two standard gauge grain trains near Gheringhap, a few kilometres from the North Geelong Grain Loop.
Most if not all of these trains are likely to be for GNC. Our company doesn't normally use competing rail operators such as AZJ, QUB or unlisted Bendigo, Vic based Southern Shorthaul Railroad.
The majority of moving activity tends to be at night, even on Sundays.
Good to see those hungry GNC silos, unloaders at Carrington, Geelong and Port Kembla earning their keep.
