Broadcaster Seven has vowed to send its full contingent of Winter Olympics staff to Beijing despite a major US network grounding its announcers over COVID-19 fears.
But a Seven spokesman told the Herald its plans had not changed.“Having already produced Tokyo 2020 during the pandemic, we’re fully prepared to deliver another electrifying broadcast during Beijing 2022,” he said.
“Seven will have the largest Australian contingent on the ground in Beijing, including presenters, reporters, cameramen and techs to ensure Australians don’t miss a moment of the action. The depth and breadth of Seven’s Beijing 2022 broadcast is unprecedented in Australia. It will be the biggest Winter Olympic event in Australian history and will be broadcast on over 20 dedicated channels across Seven and 7plus, all live, free and in HD.”
