Brainchip has certainly done the ground work in the last 2 years. Whatever the competition, Akida appears to be the most ubiquitous platform when the "next generation" edge AI microprocessors are rolled out due to the ecosystem that it has established.
The next Renesas chip with 5G and Akida AI accelerator will be the game changer. It will raise the bar in the edge AI space and Qualcomm and others will need to match. Qualcomm may go with Loihi 2 since there is some deal for Qualcomm's chip to be manufactured at Intel's new foundries....but then again, Intel has allowed Akida to be part of its ecosystem so Qualcomm could just easily go with Akida for their next generation Snapdragon. Either way, competition should be good for both Akida and Loihi 2...it's the only 2 well established fully digital SNN that has sufficient neuronal and synaptic "power" to meet the demands of the complexity of future AI products. If Renesas is successful at rolling out various products with Akida then I'm sure Brainchip will be a take over target. However like different components of a computer or car, a microprocessor chip has become so complex with different components that it's better economics for chip companies to outsource these components than have multiple R&D departments for each component.
Also the landscape is moving so fast at the moment that product companies will choose the edge AI platform that is readily adaptable and future proof. Personally I think Brainchip has made it very easy for any company to integrate Akida through its Meta TF and Edge Impulse, and being able to tape out via TSMC or Global Foundries. Plus, if you listen to the words coming out of Mike Davies, the Director of Intel's neuromorphic computing, you will realize that Brainchip's Akida, a fully digital SNN with equivalent 1.2 million neurons and 100 billion synapses, will certainly be a future proof edge AI platform.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fnf9yewGg1w
So anyone selling at these low SP are just traders rather than true investors...everyone has their way to make money so good luck to all...but no one is getting my big BRN parcel that's for sure. I think the exponential rise in Brainchip's revenue in the next 3 years will catch people by surprise.
These are my thoughts so please DYOR.
