Segway was their own undoing - they made their products ludicrously expensive, to the point they were inviting a Chinese firm to come and create knock off products.
BRN's product is so cheap that it's stupid to try and knock it off - you may as well license it.
Plus BRN's product has been in no uncertain terms locked out of the Chinese market - the US have identified that it is strategic tech and BRN have to be very careful who they sell their product to.
