I bought 20000 at .50 so 10000 dollars. Sold on Thursday at 1.40 so 28000. Profit was 18000. I only held for 2 MTHS so need to pay tax on my 100 percent gain not 50 if I had held over 12 mths. Therefore, I need to pay my normal tax rate of 33 percent on 18000 which is 6000. Profit after tax is 12000 dollars. Would have been 15000 if I had held longer than 12 mths. Does that help you. I was happy with 12000 profit after 2 mths but take the risk that I have taken profits too early. Hard choice.
