    Hello all,

I am not a shareholder in BRN, however, from the outset let me pass on my congratulations to all shareholders for the outstanding price action you have enjoyed more recently - long may it continue and the company prosper.

BRN has been on my radar for some time now (no pun intended given what follows), however, one simply cannot own them all and my spare capital is fully committed elsewhere at the moment.

What specifically piqued my interest and prompted me to post here was a very recent development in relation to my one and only crypto investment, namely Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR).

This post is not intended as a synopsis on or plugging of Hedera Hashgraph - in brief summary only, it is a distributed ledger technology (DLT) based on the hashgraph (rather than blockchain) algorithm, invented by Dr Leemon Baird, who was formerly Professor of Computer Science at the US Air Force Academy. Hedera Hashgraph boasts a number of qualities including enterprise grade scalability based on exceptionally high transaction speed and finality, low cost, low energy usage, aBFT level security, etc. Current members of its Governing Council include IBM, Google, LG, Tata Communications, FIS, DLA Piper, etc.

The news from last week is that the aviation tech firm Neuron World announced that it had just completed a UK Government sponsored trial using a radar system leveraging Hedera Hashgraph:

And among other comments from the preceding article:

”Neuron’s James Dunthorne added, “A lot of work going on has been developing core infrastructure around UTM services. Part of that relies on a distributed architecture—the DSS—which is essentially a telephone directory for all the UTMs so they can interact with each other. One of the core fundamental missing pieces is around the airspace picture about where all the aircraft are. That piece hasn’t really been solved yet, and this is where we’ve been focusing our energy.

NASA’s development of a traffic management system for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) which was announced last week is intended to enable growth of UAS operations at lower altitudes for civilian applications. Dunthorne commented that this system “essentially provides instructions for drones on how to avoid each other, how to navigate through the airspace. It’s more about what you do with the data, not how you get the data in the first place.” In comparison, he says, Neuron is more focused on how to get the data to make decisions, and the UTM subsequently will provide the ability to make those decisions.“

The reason I have posted about the above here is that some brief reading on BRN indicated some possible tech use cross-over with Hedera, for example from this Fin Review article which mentions “radar research” and indeed a possible link to US Air Force Research (noting again the historic link between the creator of the hashgraph algorithm and the US Air Force as mentioned earlier):

Noting also with respect to BRN and Akida:

”Akida is available as a licensable IP technology that can be integrated into ASIC devices and will be available as an integrated SoC, both suitable for applications such as surveillance, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles (AV), vision guided robotics, drones, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), acoustic analysis, and Industrial Internet-of-Things (IoT). Akida performs neural processing and memory accesses on the edge, which vastly reduces the computing resources required of the system host CPU. This unprecedented efficiency not only delivers faster results, it consumes only a tiny fraction of the power resources of traditional AI processing. Functions like training, learning, and inferencing are orders of magnitude more efficient with Akida.”

Together with the recent announcement regarding BRN and ISL:

”Today announced that Information Systems Laboratories, Inc. (ISL) is developing an AI-based radar research solution for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) based on its Akida™ neural networking processor.

ISL is an employee-owned technology development corporation that performs expert research and complex analysis, software and systems engineering, advanced hardware design and development, and high-quality specialty fabrication for a variety of customers worldwide. ISL specializes in the areas of advanced signal processing, space exploration, undersea technologies, surveillance and tracking, cyber security, advanced radar systems, and energy independence. As a member of BrainChip’s Early Access Program, ISL will be able to evaluate boards with the Akida device, software and hardware support and dedicated engineering resources.”

Having regard to the matters set out above and the recent Neuron / Hedera drone trial - I would be genuinely interested in any commentary or insight that the learned contributors to this forum might be able provide as to potential synergies that might exist between BRN’s Akida technology and the use of Hedera’s DLT (or the ability to leverage DLT with the Akida neural processor) noting what would appear to be the outstanding utility promise of each in developing areas such autonomous vehicles, drone radar systems and the like. Interesting times indeed.

    Very best wishes to all.
