Interesting fact:
Another 6 million shares were shorted on the 13th
we don’t have the numbers for Friday yet.
That is 6 million new short positions.
So I am assuming that these positions as well as many of the previous short positions were closed on Friday and/or Thursday and the reopened at the peak of Friday, or coming down from the peak on Friday which helped push the sp up and down.
Now the question is how many of the shorts were reset on Friday?
It would explain quiet a large portion of the volume on both days.
it also explains why the sp didn’t stay up higher.
I don’t believe the shorts are compelled to report a reset in their positions, just new or closed off positions (I.e. handed the shares back to lender or borrowing from lender.)
