I have noticed that some were unsure as to whether or not the European or US markets affected the stock prices, noting that the volumes were much lower than the ASX. Those markets tend to gravitate towards the converted price, be it Euros or USD on the open, so the value seems to stay in sync.

If I am not mistaken, I believe it is not the volume that directly affects the stock price, but the demand. My understanding is, if the number of buy orders outnumbers the sell orders, then the price should go up. If the sell orders outnumber the buy orders, then conversely, a decrease in the share price.

While the volume may affect one's expectations and emotions in making decisions to buy or sell, I still tend to think that supply and demand will be the affectors on the stock prices, even if the volumes differ between markets. I think, however, as the stock becomes more well known, those volumes will change.

Is my understanding correct?
