I have worked for a number of large organisations.
Where billion of dollars were spent on projects. The decision to spend are usually made by the board, but there is usually one or 2 key people that convince the board to make the decision.
The problem is that even if it is suspected and later eventually known that the decision and direction was wrong, the ego and the politics are such that the will find any excuses to continue in the selected direction. Sometimes doubling up on the effort and spend.
That is why small companies like BRN can sometimes, by taking a different path, can change the world and leave the large companies scratching their heads in disbelief.
