And some people have horrific and/or exceptionally lonely lives and life never gets any easier no matter how hard they try.
The number of good days they might be able to count on one hand. Not that it doesn't help to try but it doesn't always work out.
But those narratives may not be as inspirational. It doesn't necessarily make them bad or lazy.
