More funding for chip production sites = MORE AKIDA CHIPS (IMO)

President Joe Biden's administration is pushing Congress to approve funding to subsidize chip production in the United States, as shortages of the component used in vehicles and computers have exacerbated supply-chain bottlenecks.

Congress has passed the CHIPS for America Act, which includes $52 billion in subsidies to support domestic semiconductor manufacturing, but has not yet allocated the funds.

Findings on the ongoing shortage "highlights the critical need for the United States to invest in expanding semiconductor capacity."

The EU is gearing up to put what may be billions of euros in state aid towards semiconductor production sites.One of the goals of the EU’s coming Chips Act is to attract investment for the projects, so-called “mega fabs”.
