Misleading people to affect a SP alongside fake Hotcopper accounts and multiple trading accounts... Not that hard to do and is surely still going on. Just made me think of BRN when I read it, since there are countless threads on cults and one eyed supporters, a volatile SP and many people who dedicate hours on hours daily to discredit BRN on these forums.
