If you ever want to get rid of that old bicycle or furniture piece, just leave it out on the verge.
But that doesn't work most of the time, as it is perceived as being old and worthless.
However, if you put a sign on the bicycle with $150 on it, it will get stolen and you have achieved your aim, to offload it.
It is perception of value.

There are a lot of new posters, because there are a lot of people passing the Brainchip verge, and they want that bike..
Increased value has deluded the observer and as they can't steal it they pay for it and then leave it on their verge for the next passerby.
