You'd be flabbergasted to know how some of the sophies & professional investors manipulate the sp on some demanding stocks through their agents. They rather pay a small commission to their agents to cap the price rather than buying in the higher price (which is also good for the liquidity of the stock)
They buy in millions through their agents by capping and they know who to do it. The only prey here is the retailers who sell our of fear. I have done it before and know exactly how they do it. Obviously you'd have a large capital to do it and professional investors have the capacity to do so. I have done on AEV when it was flying a couple of months ago. I maybe wrong but I have learnt over the past couple of years not to get fooled by these big pocket rollers in these market.
