Agree. Our most knowledgeable contributor on the GNC thread, Portsmouth, says GNC will be busy for (at least) the next 18 months or thereabouts.
It's too early to be definitive about the yet to be planted winter 2023 crop, and whether we have a drought. One must arrive sooner or later, but yesterday's rains in parts of the NSW graingrowing belt further cemented good soil moisture levels.
Trangie in NSW was an outlier in it receiving 71.4 millimetres in the last three days - flood-like - but the major rural city of Dubbo received more than 21mm yesterday. Cowra and Coonamble had a far more moderate 2mm, but in the northwest Narrabri and Walgett missed out, as did much of the south's NSW Riverina. Some hot weather is predicted for the next few days.
In Victorian graingrowing areas, no rain is forecast. Some hot weather is on the way: nothing unusual for February, and so far it appears to have been a cool summer.
