pretty sure the “instos” you refer to 18c made money on their investment. The “instos” continue to short this thing and will do so until sayona drop out of the asx 200. “Instos” always get the early gods on raises and position themselves accordingly. The only ones suffering are the retail who bought in and kept riding the long wave down. Unfortunately that’s how it goes.
