The good thing about the stock market is there are always opportunities, the chance to make back what you lost could be very close with a new bull potentially getting started. SYA is most unlikely to be the one that gets you back in the game though(be VERY careful about averaging down, throwing good money after bad - losers average losers), leaders of one cycle rarely lead in the next .. Jim Roppel did a study on this in the US markets, something like 2.6% of previous market leaders ever get back to their old highs - look at some of the old leaders of the China boom years, AGO, MGX, GBG, even PDN, two of them no longer exist, the other two still a VERY long way off their old highs
