I reckon Akida has a 3 plus year lead over IBM and is better technology. Northpole would not be structured how it is if it wasn't for Brainchips patents.

While NorthPole takes some ideas from neuromorphic computing chips, including IBM's earlier TrueNorth, this is not neuromorphic hardware, in that its processing units perform calculations rather than attempt to emulate the spiking communications that actual neurons use.
