If (and that's a big "maybe") it's buying on the back of somebody knowing something (or, at least joining some big dots) then something very big could be announced soon. Whoever was buying didn't care about pushing the price up 38% i.e. they are expecting a big upside and wanted to get their position in place fast.
BUT! We don't actually know why - we only know that POP! The share price went up.
