Extracts from ME's 21/12/23 analysis of the Australian Lithium Miners:
" . The Macquarie Commodities Strategy team has released its latest commodity outlook for lithium and expects the market to remain in surplus for several years, before returning to deficit from 2027 as demand growth progressively outpaces supply growth.
• Lithium carbonate forecasts have been reduced by 62% in CY24 to US$19,875/t, 71% in CY25 to US$19,000/t, and 62% in CY26 to US$25,000/t;
• Long-term spodumene prices are unchanged at US$1,500/t, while long-term lithium carbonate and hydroxide prices also remain unchanged at US$18,000/t and US$19,000/t, respectively."
