Found this article from mining technology from the beginning of 2020. Interestingly, at the beginning in paragraph 5 it states;

" Ekati’s mine life is till 2034, including the Misery underground and the Jay project. It is expected to extend to 2042 following exploration and project evaluation activities."

It seems to me that this mine (overall project area) in fact has a lot more potential years left than is generally understood and especially, has yet to yield the best of it's larger treasures because recently the larger yellow diamonds are starting to pop up-
