On weather, Australia has just had the third triple La Niña since 1900. They typically last about a year, and a four-year La Niña has not happened since 1900, and probably long before then. Whether we now have a neutral year or an El Niño year, I cannot say, but the clever folk at the Bureau of Meteorology think Australia is not going to have a fourth La Niña year.
