If they continue it's wilful ignorance and recklessness as to the truth of their statements.
It's not possible to defame a corporation above a certain size (related to the number of employees) but you definitely can defame an office holder or Board Member, either directly by mentioning their names, or necessary implication. You can also defame someone by necessary implication such as context.
I've had enough of this sort of thing.
