The extra cost to buy a hybrid means that you will be a long time getting a payback from the fuel saving.

My sister in law bought a Kluger hybrid.
Because they need much better tyres to carry the extra weight, when she damaged a tyre on a kerb it cost $500 to replace one tyre.
My Falcon tyres can be had for about $110 each.
How much fuel do you need to save to pay for that on top of extra cost of the car.

They also have a RAV Hybrid.
They can easily afford it so good luck to them, but please do not tell me it is saving them money.

The resale is horrendous on EV's because people know that every year they diminish in range and every year they get closer to needing a new battery at huge cost.
Range diminishes when it's cold and you can't practically tow with them for any distance.
Does this sound like something that suits Australia?
EV's are only practical and economic around town where they get good mileage per charge.
They go through charge at an incredible rate on the highway.
For most people they are only suitable as a second car, and who can afford them at the price for limited use?

Don't park it in a garage that is part of the house.

These are just a few of their problems.

Have you ever seen a government have a good practical idea that actually works?
They always pick losers and force plebs to comply.

I would not want ICG to put our very limited money into such a folly.
