I had a similar experience sometime ago on Etrade now CMC. The order was rejected because my buy price was pips ahead of current BP. I then placed order at current BP which was accepted. I then amended order to SP and made the purchase. It is a pity that the Royal Commission into the finance industry wasn't extended to Share market.
