Last post for now - notice the VW battery lab in the center at the bottom of the above image. That's VW's only such lab outside of Europe and China. "The company says these are “strategically placed,” which is very credible..."

Wouldn't surprise me if VW facilitated NVX securing its site. Over quite a few years VW have clearly created a localized ecosystem for as much of their heavily vertically integrated EV production as possible. As the largest (or second largest, depending on the year) car maker in the world, who is on track to be the biggest EV maker in the world, their strategists didn't come down in the last shower.
