Proving the fluidity of my second paragraph above, most Victorian graingrowing areas (especially in the state's northwest and west) received good rainfall overnight.
This is helpful for soil moisture as decision time for planting season is upon growers.
A fair amount of northern NSW sees rain today, although some areas are still missing out. Dubbo in the central west has had a major 37 millimetres in the past 28 hours to 1300 AEDT but so far that isn't typical. Further rain is predicted in much of the NSW grainbelt this week: it needs it.
