These are not vaccines in the traditional sense - they don’t ‘protect’ children from brain cancer. They are used as treatment for people that already have brain cancer. Very very broadly, you take some of the patient’s immune cells, and you take some of the tumour cells, and in a lab train the immune cells to recognise the tumour, and then inject them back into the patient to go and do their thing.
