Nvidia is doubling down on its GPU based AI solutions...compressing its warehouse size GPU supercomputer into a much smaller supercomputer...plus calling it "accelerated computing" and throwing around the word "deep learning" and "inference" AI like they have solved the holy grail in AI, does not change the fact that it is still GPU based!
The holy grail of AI is still to mimic the human brain and enhancing this a billion fold...almost like unlocking the human brain to use its full potential rather than an equivalent 5-10% like most of us are using...the movie "Lucy" is very interesting! Yes, we do actually use 100% of our brain physiologically but the "effective intelligence" running level is equivalent to 5-10%.
This is why neuromorphic computing will eventually take over Nvidia's GPU based "accelerated computing", no matter how well Nvidia spins it. No matter how they compact it or technically refine its GPU, its core "intelligence" and "efficiency" level will never mimic the human brain.
Whether it's a technically logical or an economically strategic move, Intel, IBM, ARM and AMD will build their foundation in AI towards neuromorphic computing...I just can't see any other option when Nvidia is going full blast with its GPU solutions which is definitely better than its current counterpart CPU solutions.
Brainchip, as a provider of a "pure" neuromorphic platform IP (Akida) and solidly backed up by the likes of Edge Impulse, will be the quickest and easiest solution for chip companies to compete with Nvidia in the AI space. Yes there are other neuromorphic platforms but Akida is definitely becoming the front runner...after all, it has been extensively tested by the likes of NASA, Mercedes, ARM, and many others...and there is NOT many "pure" neuromorphic platforms out there, let alone commercially ready!
Who knows, Nvidia may one day incorporate Akida into its GPU platform which is more than likely if Intel, IBM and ARM move quickly towards neuromorphic computing.
Of course nothing is certain and these are all my opinion...stay cool and well done to those who topped up at 14 cents
