Short selling will never be removed as an option. It would have to hobble every big hedge fund on Wall Street first, and then eventually be followed by the ASX.
That will never ever happen.
Besides, it's an integral part of the efficient market.
Just out of curiosity, what info did you find out that you weren't aware of?
