Interesting interview with Mike Davies at Intel about Loihi 1 & 2. Particularly interesting is his comment regarding space:

“Most interest so far is coming from the space and aerospace industries that are size, weight and power sensitive, and where communicating with servers on the ground can be expensive or impossible. Davies hopes that proving the technology in these first applications will help it filter down to higher volume markets eventually.”

This statement appears to be confirmed by the significant uptake of AKIDA technology by companies working in AeroSpace and Defence applications. It is difficult to compare Brainchip and Intel and what they are achieving in the neuromorphic compute arena however given Brainchip's minnow status management appear to be equalling Nvidia on the commercialisation front at least while at the same time streaking ahead in the technology development race.

I note that Intel is boasting about its latest neuromorphic research offering called Hala Point which incredibly runs at 15TOPS P/W whereas AKIDA 2.0 is rated at 131TOPS P/W and is commercially available.
