The numbers were for fun but they do show that even an average small customer at Microchip is likely spending more than a normal retail customer would at JB's or Dick Smith Electronics.
As for percentages the announcement and the statement by Microchip in the podcast does not suggest percentages as they are all referencing the incorporation of AKD1000 with their 32 bit MPU's for high-end uses.
A quick Google suggests that Microchip 32 bit MPU's are retailing from about $US8.00 to $US40.00.
Again for no other reason than for fun if I divide the average net profit of $US56,000 by $US40 this would be more than 1,400 32 bit MPUs as $US40.00 is the retail price not even gross profit.
Again for fun if AKD1000 returned $US10.00 net profit times 1,400 this would be $US14,000 which if we multiply it by 1,200 customers it would be $US16.8 million. Clearly 1400 is conservative to the low side.
As I said all these numbers are for fun as Microchip is selling this AKIDA incorporated product into high-end markets where the customers would be much larger and more sophisticated and spending greater sums and at higher volume.

Apart from having a bit of fun which I and others like to do it is impossible to calculate with any precision the exact amounts involved but it is quite obvious that significant revenue generation is possible from just one mid tier semiconductor supplier like Microchip.
