    appreciate your response, however it's clear that you haven't really thought this through to any reasonable extent. your comment in regards to Renesas suggests that you don't completely understand the nature of the relationship nor do you really understand the reasons for being an IP business rather than hard silicon business.

    mass producing silicon chips is extremely capital intensive to start with, which would require a significant amount of upfront cash that we don't have access to currently. this would also mean the config is fixed and you loose the flexibility of integration via IP. this is something that we need as the ultimate goal is to have the IP interacted into end consumer products that are going to have design constraints. having IP also means the client can choose the foundry they want to deal with. that's the point of taping out a chip with more than one foundry, to prove cross compatibility as well as having a large partner network to prove cross integration compatibility with various components and or software.

    you have also assumed that none of the licensees are going to make a chip/product. to my knowledge this has not been definitively stated anywhere. what experience/information have you drawn on to make this conclusion?
