We were told that AKD1500 was produced without the ARM Cortex M4 CPU and some other features as requested by unidentified customers.
We were informed by Douglass Fairbairn at MegaChip that they had designed the AKD1500 backend.
We had hypothesised that it might have been SiFive that requested the removal of the ARM CPU based on their position as competitors.
In this YouTube video Rob Telson states that Microchip is integrating its processor with AKD1500.
To my knowledge this is the first time we have been told the name of an AKD1500 customer.

Did not reveal this fact.
The interview with Microchip at CES hosted by Nandan Nayampally did not reveal this Fact.
