It amazes me the impatience of some with this investment. Technology adoption takes time. For example, liquid crystal displays - which borrow manufacturing techniques from the semiconductor industry - were invented in 1964. it wasn't until 1984 that a pocket colour tv came out and it wasn't until the early 2000s that they effectively started replacing cathode ray tubes, only surpassing their performance in 2007, with Gen 8 and approx 50% market penetration in sales. Only in the 2010s did they become the ubiquitous standard. We are Gen 2. The edge AI industry is developing at a rapid pace and improvements will come quicker than this but not overnight. 5 years ago edge AI was hardly even a "thing"
