The following is an extract from the Brainchip and Unigen announcement.

Note that Unigen’s CEO states they will be “integrating Brainchip’s technology into the cupcake platform”:

”Paul Heng, President, and CEO of Unigen, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, envisioning the Cupcake Edge AI Server as a catalyst for transformative AI solutions. The partnership aims to offer customers a smart, sustainable, and secure Edge AI solution by integrating BrainChip’s technology into the Cupcake platform.”

Then note what Unigen states about how it is engaging with other companies in this space by making it possible to connect the modules of those companies to the Unigen Cupcake Edge Server:

“Unigen's Cupcake

Unigen’s newly released turnkey server is also a contender for computer vision use cases, according to the vendor. Cupcake is designed to be low power, low latency and high performance, using an Intel Elkhart Lake 4-core Atom processor that is matched to AI modules from partners including Blaize, Hailo, Degirum and MemryX. The modules connect to the server through an E1.S interface.”

It seems quite clear that the Unigen AKIDA Edge Server is intended to be a standalone Ai edge server distinguishing it completely from these other announced add ons to the current Unigen Edge Server.

The question yet to be answered is will there be provision made to add these other companies modules to the Unigen AKIDA Cupcake offering and if so to what end???
