I don't think BRN will succeed long term. But I would never take out a short on BRN either.
As we saw in 2020 and 2021 BRN's stock was subjected to 'irrational exuberance'. Stocks that have a heavy retail following (such as BRN: there are no cornerstone instos) can be particularly prone to this.
This irrational buying can lead to wild price pumps and dumps: some will take profit, some will buy in on hype and be left holding their bags.
I saw an opportunity for a trade in BRN once (got out with profit), but there are too many unknowns currently to see it as any more than a risky gamble. If significant deals are made and revenue received, I will reevaluate my position.
