We don't need to take every trade that is available in front of you, neither do we need to do a trade that does not align with own investment methods.
Am I certain that BRN is going to fail? NO. I am not certain, but I have my doubts, sure. But I have accepted the fact that nothing is certain so getting prepared for either scenario to play out.
Also, even if you short a company, and company gets folded, it could take a few months for shorters to get the whole money in their bank account - not such a bad scenario though, since the holders would lose everything, forever.
I am also not short BRN because I am already long on it. I am not an insto to hedge my positions like that, plenty of other ways for risk management for a private investor.
