akida IP was for sale since 2019 for companies to purchase to incorporate into their own chips.
in 2020 the company produced the akida 1000 as a reference chip. As investors we were told by management that this chip could be bought at mass. And that any company looking to use more than 1 million chips would more than likely seek a IP license.
furthermore your comments stating there’s no chance renesas would tape out a chip if they didn’t intend to use it… well I’ve got news for you. If you did one ounce of research outside of the pump community you would know that only 80% of ARM licensees make it to commercial mass production. And as Antonio said “if they even get there” in the post 2023 investor podcast.
renesas taped out a chip almost 2 years ago… they never went to commercial production… as per the financials…
brainchip may explode I don’t doubt that but so far they are failing to sign licenses.
if you use renesas as an example from license to royalty revenue… it’s coming up on 4 years. IF THEY GET THERE. So anyone signing a license right now we won’t see royalties till 2028.
Understand the process and understand that there are no guarantees… no new license no new money no royalties.
