I just came across an interesting article about fake holder accounts on stocks forums. I will just put a quick summary here. Hopefully its of use to aa few actual shareholders in weeding out these trolls when determining how to weight commentary & / or use ignore function.

1. Each post uses anchoring principle to create fear. The use of a countdown approach gives readers the feeling that time is running out.
Eg (a). Only X days to AGM, management better do well.
Eg. (b) anchor to a declining SP chart constantly

2. Constantly blame management & specifically the CEO for everything. This comment will be seen daily to boost their posting volume on the occasions nobody replies to their initial bait post.
Eg. CEO rakes in millions while 'we' (to be inclusive ) suffer.

3. Use GIFS / memes constantly. These take up larger areas than text so are viewed by a higher volume of forum readers. Puts the troll message in Bold print so to speak.

4. Initiate an untrue comment to generate high volume posting. These paid stock bashers commonly posts 15- 30 times a day across multiple tickers but under several usernames to remain undetected. Some countries set up 'troll factories' where several group up on stocks sitting in same office vicinity.
Hint: Look for similar themed usernames. Eg. prefixes, themes, animals even. lol.
Often these posts read as clearly scripted and follow a pattern of pre-determined bait & then responses.
Username photos often changed to appear a loyal long term shareholder.
Use of grammar improving apps like Grammarly to sound more like country of ticker base origin.

5. Often pose as shareholders to appear inclusive to a predicament or slump in company SP performance. Also over time often their intent slips out as they post words like 'stupid XX ticker shareholders' leaving the script and outing themselves. Look for terms like 'shareholders must be concerned, shareholders time is running out' etc rather than 'our' or 'we'

6. A username will disappear only to have a new one pop up a month later claiming to be a long term holder and use identical terminology, writing style and techniques and claim to not be connected..............as they continue to use terms like red flags, use same highlight and bolding technique as the last version of themselves.

Anyway, those intended recipients of this post will surely seek to have it removed for obvious reasons. Feel free to screen-shot for use as needed.
Those flirting around the HC rules & ethics should surely be reported and removed for such activities. People come here to discuss topics around their investments where real money is in play. I find these activities complete unethical and the parasites have no place here.

I feel its on-topic, factual and generic in nature. Anyone offended should surely take a good hard look at themselves.
